Starting January 1st, 2024, Belgium assumes the final rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. This ultimate presidency within the current institutional cycle will not be insignificant, as it aims to contribute to a smooth transition towards the next term. With the European Parliament elections scheduled for June 2024, Belgium has announced its ambition to facilitate the adoption of the 2024-2029 strategic program and to prepare discussions on the future of the European Union.
